Course Aims
The Aim of the (SMSTS) Site Managers Safety Training Scheme Course is to assist site management and supervisory personnel to:
- Manage health and safety on site in accordance with the current legal provisions and within the context of their management or supervisory role
- Develop an understanding of their responsibilities and accountability for site health, safety and welfare
- Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical and productive
Who is this course suitable for?
Site supervisors with minimum 3 years’ experience, Site Managers, Project Managers and Contracts managers
Course Objectives
To refresh the candidates with updates to legislations, within the industry guidance and GE 700. The course will also cover in detail:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
- Risk assessments/method statements
- Recent changes in accepted working practices
- Behavioural safety
- Management of occupational health
- Electricity
- Excavations
- Working at height
- Scaffolding
- Demolition
- Confined spaces.
