Course Aims
To train operators in the Safe Operation of Impact Wrenches including:
- Health and safety regulations
- Pre-start inspections
- Procedure for dealing with defective equipment
- Refuelling and recharging
- Operating machines
- Post-operational checks
Who is this course suitable for?
This course is for any person who is required to use an impact wrench in the course of undertaking work tasks.
Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to ensure that operatives can safely operate an Impact Wrench in accordance with HSE requirements and PUWER (1998) guidelines.
Pre-Requisites
Delegates must be at least 16 years of age.
Would all candidates please ensure they bring with them their National Insurance Number together with 2 from the following; Company ID, Passport, Driving Licence or some other form of photographic identification.
Candidates are required to bring High Visibility Clothing to include High Visibility (HV) upper body clothing to BS EN 471:2003 class 2 as a minimum (HV tabard); and HV lower body clothing to BS EN 471:2003 class 1 as a minimum (HV trousers or HV over trousers), PPE incl. Hard Hat, and Safety footwear. Eye protection must conform to BS EN166 (safety goggles of Grade 1 impact standard (now EN166B). Safety gloves must also be worn.
