Course Aims

This course is intended for candidates who need to continue to work on or near the line on Network Rail’s infrastructure in a Lookout capacity.
On successful completion of the course Candidates will be able to continue to carry out the duties of Lookout in accordance with the Rule Book and other relevant Standards.

Course Suitability

This course is suitable for existing Lookouts to recertify their competence.

Additional Information

If this is the first time a candidate has recertified this competence, they must show proof that they have completed the necessary E-Learning and logbook entries to have successfully moved from the probationary period of their competence as a Lookout.

PRE-REQUISITES

Must be a minimum age of 18. 

Must meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to medical level 1 or 3(must be eligible to work alone).

Must meet Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051(Drug & Alcohol) 
Must have sufficient command of the English language as per Network Rail Standard. 

Must bring Sentinel card endorsed with PTS (must not be in Learning Support or have red triangle) 
Please advise if any candidates have any additional needs within a learning environment, such as Dyslexia ahead of the course.

All candidates must bring with them photographic  ID - For British Nationals - a current and valid recognised, branded form of identity card, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card, full driving licence, passport, biometric ID Card, resident permit as per Home Office guidance or 'ValIDate' card.  

For Non-British Nationals - a current and valid passport is required.
