Course Aims
Provide training and practical assessment for those persons who need to implement and work to safe working procedures and permits for confined space entry.
Who is this course suitable for?
All personnel who are directly involved in the planning, supervision and execution of work in confined spaces such as manholes, shafts, chambers, sewers, tanks etc.
The Objectives of the Course are to enable delegates to:
- Prepare to enter and work safely in medium risk confined spaces
- Enter and exit confined spaces safely
- Prepare and use escape breathing apparatus in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
- Use equipment and tools safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions
- Follow procedures and work safely
- Deal with emergencies
- Work with others
- Use general knowledge for working in confined spaces and their environments
Candidates are required to bring High Visibility Clothing to include High Visibility (HV) upper body clothing to BS EN 471:2003 class 2 as a minimum (HV tabard). PPE incl. Hard Hat (BS EN 397) (Climbing hat (EN 397:2012 + A1:2012) with head torch preferable but will be supplied if required), and Safety footwear (Incl ankle protection, not rigger boots). Due to the practical nature of elements of the training delivery and assessment process, it is advisable to wear clothing that is suitable as work wear
- Hard Hat must have chin strap. Additional Head Light preferred
- Hand Protection to EN 388:2016 Level C as minimum. (Cut 5).
Would all candidates please ensure they bring with them their National Insurance Number together with 2 from the following; Company ID, Passport, Driving Licence or some other form of photographic identification.
Candidates are required to be in a good state of physical fitness as this course is physical.
