Basic Track Awareness (BTA)

This course is for indivduals who are required to access the track environment in the course of their duties.

Aims & Objectives: To enable an individual to work in the track environment under protection when trains or mechanised vehicles are moving. The individual must comply with current legislation and London Underground (LU) rules. To equip individuals with the knowledge required to work under protection in the track environment.

Requirements

Delegates must bring:

• One passport sized photograph

• LU approved safety boots

• Printed and fully completed signed, medical form TSW028. A printed and fully completed TSW024 to accompany the TSW028 if it is more than three months old.

• Spectacles (if required)

• LU approved orange Hi-visibility vest displaying employing company name on the back (mandatory for working on LU infrastructure). For clarity regarding PPE standards, please liaise with your TfL Sponsor or Project Manager.

• Safety on the track certification, if held even if expired

• Full length trousers (not loose fitting)

 

Please ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the course.

What to bring on the day

Delegates MUST show us proof that they hold the ICI & LU IND competences, by choosing one of the following options.

 

1. Bring a print out of their Sentinel profile

2. Show the trainer a screenshot of their Sentinel profile

3. Access their profile online through the Sentinel database website (Cardholder portal https://mysentinel.me/Account/LogOn/?ReturnUrl=/)

 

Or bring their LU Access Card

 

Delegates must bring a printed fully completed and signed medical form TSW028. An original TSW028 is also accepted. If training takes place more than three months when it was signed by the doctor, a fully completed and printed TSW024 must accompany the TSW028.
